What’s the future of the cannabis industry? Today we meet Kyle Baker cofounder and CSO of Clean Theory and Ecobuds. I met Kyle at the Southern Illinois University Hemp and Cannabis Symposium. Kyle is a cannabis science entrepreneur with a background in reading tea leaves, or in this case fan leaves. In this episode Kyle and I chat about the future of cannabis regulations with examples of what the industry can expect.

Kyle has a deep understanding and experience in socio-technical design and econometric modeling and their application to disease mitigation.  He has applied this expertise to 16 core markets for chlorine dioxide (ClO2) use, including early adaptation of ClO2 for disinfection and sterilization in brewery and winery operations, the application of ClO2 under the Minor Use/Minor Species Act, as well as supporting wastewater treatment patents in the automotive and secondary manufacturer markets.

As a cannabis entrepreneur, Kyle focuses his attention on scientific verification methods and weighted decision-making to ensure the end-to-end delivery of clean and compliant cannabis to consumers, most notably medical patients. Kyle currently serves as an advisory board member for Southern Illinois University’s Cannabis Science programs.

Models for Regulation and Compliance in Cannabis

We can expect regulation of cannabis to be similar to other agricultural commodities. A good example is eggs. There is little regulation to sell eggs at your home, but there are higher expectations if you sell at a farmer market, more if you sell in a grocery store and even more if you sell across state lines. Cannabis will run a similar path.

EcoBuds and Clean Theory

Ecobuds solves disease issues and recaptures lost asset values due to disease related compliance challenges. Clean Theory helps agriculture and indoor cultivation deliver clean, compliant products to customers, healthier facilities for staff, and acceleration to the bottom line.
