In this episode Lucas shares why he founded Spendr, and the process he used to get if off the ground. It’s a great origin story that I believe provides lessons that may also apply to other ancillary cannabis companies.

We talked about the state of banking in the cannabis industry. It doesn’t appear that the Safe Banking Act will be passed anytime soon. We talked about the unlikelyhood of passage anytime time soon but who knows? We also discussed the challenges retailers face as the recent shut down of ATMs being used as a direct purchase.
Lucas shared he is a medical marijuana patient and cannabis consumer with a background in finance and technology. He founded Spendr, the only technology platform that combines payments, rewards, and marketing for the cannabis industry.
