The Challenge with Cannabis Dispensary Partners
Portia and a friend of her Dad decided to tour dispensaries throughout the state of Oregon. They found an opportunity in Sumter Oregon. The village is small with a population in the 87 people, Elkhorn Mountains, a mile high. Entire town surrounded by a state park, or so she thought. She was working at a non-profit at the time and took her severance and savings to purchase a dispensary. Her number one challenge was the relationship with her partners. It was not a good match. But despite the difficulty, the relationship has created multiple opportunities in the cannabis industry. She eventually bought out her partners, closed the dispensary and in the process

Portia decided to host an event to promote social equity and help people enter the cannabis industry. She created a team of people with skills and experience from seed to sale. She had a great turn out for the event and is continuing to give back to the industry building upon the success of that event.
