In April a group called True Social Equity in Cannabis sued three marijuana multistate operators and an vendor in Illinois federal court. They claiming the four constitute a “Chicago cartel”. Today Anna Anna Rose Ii-Epstein, and Vi Herring discuss how Illinois has mishandled the issuing of cannabis licenses that has resulted in inequity among applicants and their the right to enter the industry. We also discuss federal legalization and advice on what cannabis professionals can do to help.
What is True Social Equity?
Anna Rose and Vi believe that True Social Equity in Cannabis ensures accountability. It does it by bringing an awareness that activates change and demonstrates intolerance of injustice, through documentation and other creative lenses; thereby continuing to be the sounding board of the people.
TSEiC association is led by Anna and Vi. They are activists, creatives and business owners who strive to create a culture within the industry that benefits people who have been marginalized, ostracized and left out. They’re demands are simple: Freeing the People and Freeing the Plant, NO Lottery, NO Caps, NO Lockups, No More waiting.
According to Anna and Vi, TSEiC isn’t JUST an association they say “WE ARE A MOVEMENT of freedom and liberation within the medicinal market.”
